Shark Cake

Shark birthday cake!!! This is for Mason, one of Chantelle's friends from church.

(It's also a Good-bye Cake, since they are leaving for Idaho in two weeks!! Thank goodness for Facebook so we can stay connected.)

I'm pretty happy with how the cake turned out. The nostrils are a littttttle derpy, but I love my shark anyway.

It's fun getting to make cakes that are more boy-themed, since I've got my two little princess-loving girls.

Happy (late) birthday, Mason!

Here's the video showing the shark all the way around:

Galaxy Cake

I really enjoy making cakes that fit people.

This one matches Ashley. She's one of the most hardcore, awesome, and kind people I've ever met.

This cake is intended to be a galaxy cake inspired by Nerdy Nummies (Chantelle's favorite of the YouTube baking channels).

It turns out that mirror cakes are pretty simple, but not very sturdy (notice the strange bubble on the back of Ashley's cake? Yeah. The cake tipped while I was putting it into the fridge and I automatically touched and steadied it. The glaze pulled away into a HUGE point, but we did manage to coax it back into almost the correct shape. Lesson learned.)

Happy birthday Ashley! Thanks for letting me make your cake, and I hope you have fun skydiving for your birthday.

(I know, right?? Awesome).

We elevated the cake and poured the glaze over the top

Hoo! Owl Cake

Summer Birthday Number Two!

Our baby is now two, which is crazy. Where did the last year go??

Right now she loves owls and cats, which she calls Whoos and Meow-Meows, respectively.

Piper loved opening the fridge all day and looking at her owl. I thought we'd have some serious problems when the time came to cut the cake, but she enjoyed taking it all apart, too.

Happy Birthday, Piper! We love you <3
