Joe's Blue Dots Birthday Cake

We had the first of four summer birthdays! I made Joe's traditional birthday cake, which is a chocolate and vanilla checkered cake with German chocolate and chocolate buttercream icing. 

Chantelle was really excited about the fondant and Piper was really excited about the chocolate!

(We also had to reign in Chantelle from opening all of the presents before Daddy could get to the table).
